Your transit pass

The Navigo Pass

Navigo is the transport card used across all buses, trams, RER, Métro, and trains in Île-de-France. Depending on your situation and frequency of travel, several passes are available.

If you travel regularly on public transit, Imagine R is by far the best deal. It covers all zones in Île-de-France (including Paris) for 393.30 € per year plus an 8.00 € file fee. You can pay in monthly instalments.

Apply for Imagine R online at imagine-r.com as soon as you have your student certificate.

Navigo Liberté+

Pay only for the journeys you actually make. Each trip is charged at a reduced rate (around 2 €) and the total is debited from your bank account at the end of the month.

Navigo Mois (Monthly)

Full-price monthly pass for around 90.80 € covering all zones. Useful if you are over 26 or not eligible for Imagine R.

Where to buy or recharge

You can buy and top up a Navigo card at any RER or Métro station from automated ticket machines or counters. Bring a passport photo and valid ID.

Your daily line

The to Paris

The is the regional train connecting campus to central Paris. You will use it constantly.

  1. Évry-Courcouronnes or : the two stations nearest to campus.
  2. Juvisy: a major junction station where you can transfer to the RER C.
  3. Gare de Lyon: one of Paris's six main stations, with Métro Lines 1 & 14.
  4. Châtelet – Les Halles: the largest underground transit hub in Paris, connecting RER A, B, and several Métro lines.

Warning: Do NOT board trains bound for Melun. They run on a different branch and do not pass through Évry-Courcouronnes or . Always take trains heading toward Corbeil-Essonnes (or Malesherbes).

Inside Paris

The Paris Métro

The Métro is the fastest way to travel within inner Paris. It has 16 lines and over 300 stations.

  1. Your Navigo card works on every Métro line.
  2. Find your line and direction by the name of the Terminus station at each end.
  3. Connections between lines are clearly signed as "Correspondance".
  4. Trains run from roughly 5:30 am to 1:00 am (2:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays).

At Châtelet – Les Halles, the walking connection between RER D and some Métro lines can take up to 10 minutes underground.

Beyond Paris

Trains Across France

France has an excellent high-speed rail network. Weekend trips to Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, or Brussels are easily within reach.

  1. Book on SNCF Connect. The earlier you book, the cheaper the ticket.
  2. TGV: classic high-speed train. Comfortable and fast.
  3. Ouigo: SNCF's budget option. Tickets from 10 €.
  4. The Avantage Jeune card (49 €/year, under 28) gives 30% off most TGV tickets.

Door to door

Taxis & Ride-sharing

Sometimes public transit isn't convenient, especially late at night or with heavy luggage.

  • Uber and Bolt: both operate in the Paris area and Évry. Compare prices before booking.
  • BlaBlaCar: popular carpooling platform in France for cheap long-distance trips on blablacar.fr.
  • Regular taxis: available at stations and airports. Taxis from Orly to campus cost around 30–45 €.

Campus shuttle

Bus to Palaiseau Campus

If you need to reach the Palaiseau campus (Institut Polytechnique de Paris / Télécom Paris), the Express 91.05 bus runs a direct route.

  1. Catch the Express 91.05 bus near campus in Évry.
  2. The bus takes you directly to the Palaiseau area without needing to go through Paris.
  3. Check timetables on the Île-de-France Mobilités app.
